BREAKING: ZFU–PDF Zoland must release all detained Zomi civilians now.
The people of Laaitui have spoken with one voice. On March 25, 2026, thousands of villagers in Laaitui, Tedim Township, took to the streets demanding the immediate release of local youths allegedly abducted by ZFU–PDF Zoland. According to Laaitui Times and other local sources received by Zomi.News, the detentions triggered mass public outrage and deep fear across the community. One local voice, Tg Zokhai, delivered the demand with clarity and urgency: “ZFU – PDF Zoland: Release my fellow Laitui Villagers immediately!”
This cry must now be heard beyond Laaitui. ZFU–PDF Zoland must release not only the detained youths from Laaitui, but also every other Zomi civilian reportedly captured from other villages. No armed group has the right to seize villagers, terrorize families, force youths into service, extort communities, or violate the dignity and freedom of innocent people.
Let this be said plainly: abduction is a crime. Forced portering is a crime. Coercive recruitment is a crime. Extortion is a crime. Intimidation of civilians is a crime against human dignity. Any movement that claims justice while abusing civilians has already betrayed the very principle it claims to defend.
The sons of the people are not spoils of war. Zomi villagers are not targets for coercion. Families must not be forced to live in fear while their children are taken away. This is unacceptable by every moral standard and indefensible by every human rights standard.
Release them all. Immediately.
Stop abducting Zomi civilians.
Stop terrorizing villages.
Stop violating human rights in Zogam.
